DAVID MURRAY - Chief Executive Officer

We are happy to introduce David Murray who is joining Celtel Kenya Limited as our new Chief Executive Officer. David brings to Celtel over eighteen years international experience as a senior executive in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining us, David was Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Telecom. Before that, as Chief Executive Officer of Wataniya Telecom (Kuwait), he was responsible for the successful launch of the Company in 1999, and its subsequent expansion to becoming a leading Regional Telecom Carrier, with operations in Tunisia, Iraq & Algeria, as well as Kuwait. He has a First Class Honors Degree from the University of Wales (Cardiff) and a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies (London). He began his business career in consumer marketing with Unilever & Scott Paper International, then management consultancy, where he worked on marketing and business development projects in Europe and Turkey. In the late 1980’s he became involved in mobile telecommunications, at a time when the industry was in its early stages of development. Having worked in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, North and South America, he has extensive international experience in building, managing and optimizing telecommunications businesses, and in developing local management to take over responsibility for running the business by blending the best international practices with local cultural respect.

CABA PINTER - Chief Finance Officer

Caba holds a Bachelors Degree in Economic Sciences and a Masters in International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy). He is also a Member of ACCA and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). His career begun in 1993, as an audit senior with Coopers & Lybrand in Budapest (Hungary). In November 1996, he moved to London and worked as a Senior Financial and Operations Auditor at United Technologies Corporation (UTC). April 1998 saw him as the Finance Manager at Pratt & Whitney (UTC Group) in St. Petersburg (Russia) and Finance Manager at Pratt & Whitney Kalisz (Kalisz, Poland). In October 2000 joined Millicom International Cellular, working as a CFO in the St. Petersburg (Russia) operation and in Ghana. In January 2002 joined Celtel International as FD in the Ugandan operation.

CLARE RUTO - Company Secretary

Clare is a lawyer with 11 years of working experience. She has worked in the telecommunications sector for 7 years where she held both legal and regulatory positions. Clare previously worked at the CCK (Communications Commission of Kenya) and also participated in the launch of KenCell in 2000. Clare currently heads the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team in Celtel Kenya Ltd.

GENEVA MUSAU – Human Resource Director

Geneva Musau has joined Celtel Kenya Limited as the Human Resource Director with effect from 1st August 2006. She has over 15 years experience gained from working in Multinational and International organizations in both marketing and human resource management. Prior to joining Celtel Geneva was the Regional Human Resources Manager at Oxfam GB. Geneva has also held senior Human Resource Management roles at British American Tobacco and KPMG. Geneva holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management from Demontfort University, Leicester (UK), Masters in International Business Administration from United States International University, Kenya and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi. She is also a member of the Institute of Personnel Management.
