Celtel Kenya has announced a 42 million shillings mega promotion that will offer an opportunity for mobile phones subscribers to win three fabulous houses in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu among other exciting prizes.

The Promotion dubbed, Chakaza. Ushinde Nyumba, is the first of its magnitude launched by a mobile phone operator in Kenya and aims at rewarding all existing and new subscribers.

The promotion runs for two months and there will be daily, weekly and grand draws and the first draw for the house will be held on September 2nd 2005. The second draw for the house will be held on 23rd September 2005 while the grand draw for the third house will be on October 14th 2005.

Unveiling the promotion today, Celtel Chief Executive Officer Gerhard May said the promotion offers equal opportunity to all existing and new Celtel customers. “We dedicate all our effort towards making life better for our customers, and ‘Chakaza. Ushinde Nyumba’ promotion is aimed at rewarding all our existing and new customers.”

To enter the draw, a customer only needs to consume airtime worth 100 shillings which earns him/her one entry point. The more you consume, the more entry points you get and the higher your chances of winning one of the three fabulous houses.

Prizes ranging from community phone business, airtime, Fridges, Colour TVs, DVDs, sofas, cooker, Microwaves and mobile phones will be won in the weekly draws.

How the promotion works

• Register your mobile phone number for the promotion by simply sending an SMS ‘Chakaza’ to 7777
• There are two ways to get entry points to increase your chances to win a fabulous house.
  (a) Every time you top up any amount, you get one entry point by sending an SMS ‘Chakaza’ to 7777
  (b) For every kshs 100 airtime consumed, you earn another entry point.
• All your entries are cumulative and will be entered in all draws i.e. Daily, weekly and grand draw. Top up and register now to qualify for all the draws.
• The number of entries for all customers are updated daily
• To check the number of entries you have earned, send an SMS ‘chakaza’ to 8888
• All prepaid and post paid customers are eligible
• Winners will be selected randomly and the higher the number of points, the higher the chances of winning one of the three fabulous houses.
